Gülcan Karadağ

Gülcan Karadağ

Gülcan Karadağ’s art is a showcase of personal experiences, traditions, and imagination. At the core of this expression lies her strong technique, inspired by mysticism. Her compositions often feature colors that achieve harmonious transitions through a bold palette, gradient brushwork, various geometric structures, and spirals. Sensitive light and shadow techniques create a sense of realism and dimensionality in her works.

Gülcan Karadağ graduated from the Painting Department of Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts in 1982. To date, she has held a total of 31 solo exhibitions in Turkey, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, France, and Japan. Her works are included in numerous private collections both domestically and internationally, and she continues her practice in Istanbul. Karadağ interprets symbols and figures from the history of thought in a contemporary language. For the artist, what matters most is reflecting the surreal mystery formed by the union of soul and color through her unique technique.
