Artopol Gallery Hosts Ozan Ünal’s New Bronze Sculpture Exhibition “A World for Two”

Artopol Gallery presents Ozan Ünal’s new bronze sculpture exhibition “A World for Two” from May 13 – June 15, 2025.

Born in 1974 in İzmir, Ozan Ünal graduated from Dokuz Eylül University and began producing works at Atölye Pi in Karşıyaka. Ünal’s practice, intertwining sculpture, writing, and drawing, has been showcased in numerous exhibitions including “Düşbozumu,” “İnsan Kara Bir Leke Değildir,” “Tahteravelli,” and “Rüya Anıdan Sayılır mı?”

“A World for Two” reflects a personal refuge in response to the harshness of time, the growing noise of the world, and the pressures of societal speed and impatience. It portrays a private, resilient space where two people create their own shore. Ünal’s sculptures, crafted in bronze, transcend time and space, offering figures as sanctuaries. Sometimes embodied in two intertwined bodies, sometimes in two shoulders facing the same void, these works represent the most intimate and profound connections between people.

“A World for Two” evokes a feeling fragile as a dream fragment, yet durable enough to carry a lifetime: stepping back from the crowd to make goodness possible in a world for two. This exhibition tells the story of the most naive, resilient home one human can build for another.
