About The Artist

Born in Ankara, the artist has been living in Düsseldorf since 1971. Having completed their architectural education in the same city, they worked as a partner at DGM Architekten in Krefeld between 1999 and 2017. Alongside their architectural practice, they continued their artistic production in Düsseldorf; between 2011 and 2017, in addition to their studio in Düsseldorf, they established a workspace in Ortaköy, Istanbul. They have carried out various collaborative projects with Turkish artists in Germany.

The artist continues to work predominantly out of their Düsseldorf studio. Re-establishing ties with Ankara in recent years, they founded a workspace called Garage, which over time evolved into an experimental art venue with the participation of other artists. Alongside painting, the artist engages with diverse fields of expression such as text collages, performance, installation, and acoustics, developing an interdisciplinary approach to art.
