5+1 WHY ARTOPOL? : GÖZDE AYLİS ÇİÇEK
1) Why art?
For me, art makes life worth living. One finds themselves looking at this world from a different story, and through this, their connection with life strengthens.
2) How would you describe your art in five words?
“Innocence,” “Shyness,” “Trust,” “Calmness,” “Beauty”
3) If your works could speak, what would they say to the viewer?
As we forget the spring of our lives like a shadow of rain,
there must be a meaning to refreshed solitudes.
Right here begins the story of all of us…
4) Do you have a memorable moment in your art journey?
I am always grateful for my father’s support. My father is a farmer. One day, while plowing the field, he went around a beautifully blooming weed. When I noticed it in the middle of the field and asked if he forgot it, he said, “You came to my mind, I couldn’t harm it.” I guess that was a sentence describing being an artist on the steppe through a father’s eyes.
5) Do you have any peculiar obsessions, and do they reflect in your art?
I am someone who turns everything I love into a passion. I think this is what influences and develops my art.
+1 Why Artopol?
