Artopol Art Gallery presents a special selection of the most striking works from different series and periods of the artist at the Gülcan Karadağ: 40 Years in Art exhibition, which will take place from April 20 to April 30, 2022.
At the exhibition, we will first witness the depth and mystery of imagination being combined with mysticism and transforming into an artwork.
History is in a state of motion. Consequently, the history of thought is its reflection through various changes. In her works, Gülcan Karadağ merges this long-standing history of thought, present since the earliest civilizations, with mystery and aesthetics.
In her works, where she creates a sense of reality and dimension, the artist applies the sfumato technique with soft shading. This technique allows tones to blend into each other, producing a silky, smooth appearance. In our exhibition, the focus will be on Karadağ’s most recent series, “Forests.” Nature that gives life gains continuity in the harmony of the forest. The earth is its cradle and source of creativity. If the artist is the earth, then the forest is the artist’s masterpiece!
