The solo exhibition “Because the Night” by artist Maryam Salahi, who moves between Iran and Turkey and has spent most of her life in Turkey, is now on view at Artopol Art Gallery.

In this selection of abstract works focusing on the sounds distilled from the night, the vast emptiness of space, and the theme of womanhood, the gradual abstraction of figures—each telling its own story—emerges as an allegory of day blending into night.

In her abstract works, Maryam Salahi follows in the footsteps of great masters such as El Greco and Eugène Delacroix. Although her layered compositions often begin with figuration and end in abstraction, her artistic journey never truly comes to an end…

The exhibition invites us to witness the transformation of ultramarine blue into a synthesis of timelessness within a work of art.

If you wish to visit Maryam Salahi’s solo exhibition “Because the Night,” you can do so between February 23 – March 2, from 10:00 to 22:00, at Artopol Art Gallery located in 42 Maslak.
