Turkey’s leading contemporary art gallery, Artopol Gallery, is preparing for the group exhibition “The Mirror”, which will have a preview on Wednesday, October 4. The exhibition will be on view from October 5–22 at Artopol’s modern loft exhibition space in 42 Maslak. “The Mirror // Ayna” is not just a painting and sculpture exhibition; it is an experience that explores perception and self-discovery. The works, coming from different schools, disciplines, and practices, share a common character: they are recent works produced with idealistic approaches and unique artistic identities.

Focusing on thematic fluidity, the selection includes surreal compositions and hyperrealistic depictions, while also synthesizing mythological references in a modern style, holding a MIRROR to today’s epidemic beauty standards. The concept of beautification at the core of art enhances the dynamism of these works, vividly showcasing the harmony created between the body and the artwork. The exhibition will be open until Sunday, October 22, featuring works by ten artists: Cömert Doğru, Çiğdem Akgün, Erdinç Babat, Hülya Sözer, Kaan Baltacı, Sayat Uşaklıgil, Stiliana Alexieva, Turgut Türker, Zeynep Akgün, and Zeynep Koçan.
